We already use AI and automation in parts of the organization, but the current setup is still fragmented across tools, workflows, and teams. What we need now is someone who can connect the pieces, bring clearer leadership to how marketing operates, and help shape a more integrated, scalable, and commercially effective function.
Role summary
As Chief Marketing Officer at Profoto, you will lead and develop one unified marketing function across Creators, Studio, and Cinema, which are Profoto’s internal customer segments globally.
The role combines commercial ownership with organizational and operational leadership. You will be responsible for how marketing creates demand, supports partner-led sales, strengthens the Profoto brand, and evolves into a more connected and data-driven function. This includes improving how existing systems, workflows, and insights support better decisions, clearer priorities, and stronger results over time.
The role is global in scope, reports directly to the CEO, and is critical to how Profoto develops marketing as both a growth engine and a brand-building function.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a hands-on leader who is comfortable taking full accountability for outcomes and direct connection to sales growth.
You should be able to step into an environment where capabilities already exist, but where leadership, prioritization, and connection across the full function need to be strengthened. We need someone who understands both modern AI-enabled marketing and traditional marketing disciplines, and who can bring those together into one coherent way of working.
You value execution and follow-through more than presentations, but you also understand that brand, sales, creative quality, and market position matter just as much as performance and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
You will lead the overall marketing function and take ownership of how marketing is planned, prioritized, executed, and improved across the business.
A central part of the role is to connect the systems, workflows, and data sources already in place so that marketing can operate with greater speed, conversion, clarity, and consistency. This includes strengthening how insights are generated, how decisions are made, and how marketing performance is linked to concrete sales and commercial outcomes.
You will define and run a clear operating cadence, including planning, performance reviews, prioritization, and scale, fix, or stop decisions. You will also be responsible for translating business goals into a focused marketing agenda that supports demand creation, partner activation, and long-term growth.
At the same time, this is a leadership role for the Profoto brand and the creative direction of marketing. You will ensure that marketing builds demand without weakening brand consistency, premium positioning, or creative quality. The role therefore requires strong judgment across both commercial performance and brand leadership.
You will take full ownership of the marketing function and lead the entire marketing team. This includes setting direction, priorities, team structure, and ways of working across marketing overall. The role includes people leadership for a team based in Sweden, with the expectation to develop and likely expand the team over time in line with business needs and the future operating model.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the following requirements are essential:
Master degree in marketing, business, engineering, or a comparable field
Fluency in both English and Swedish, spoken and written, at a professional and business-critical level
Strong B2B marketing experience, as a significant share of Profoto’s sales is conducted through dealers and partner channels
Experience working as a marketing leader in B2B or hybrid B2B/B2C environments with indirect sales models
Proven ownership of growth, demand, and commercial outcomes
Demonstrated experience working with both AI-enabled marketing approaches and traditional marketing disciplines
Experience leading marketing organizations with clear commercial responsibility and owning the interface between marketing, partners, and sales
Ability to work closely with executive leadership and make clear, accountable decisions
